REHABILITATION WORKS OF MANDELA ROAD TO DAR ES SALAAM (TANZANIA)
The Nelson Mandela road, which is also known as port access road, in the heart of Dar Es Salaam connects the Morogoro road intersection at Ubungo to the Port area which is the end of the project. This road together with other sections of the Central Corridor (T3 Road) link Rwanda and Burundi, parts of Eastern Zaire and southern Uganda.
It is a dual-2 lane standard road and one of the most heavily trafficked roads in Tanzania. The scope of the project is the rehabilitation of the road that comprises the reconstructions of some sections and strengthening by asphalt concrete overlays to other sections, drainage improvements and peripheral works including improved street lighting and new traffic lights and construction of service roads. The total length of the dual carriageway road is 15.6 kms
