Construction of a 4-star superior hotel distinguished by high level of finish. Works involved the demolition and reconstruction of the previous building, located at the intersection of Vitruvio street and Duca D’Aosta square in the center of Milan.
The construction activities started from the consolidations and the preparatory activities during the demolition phase, with the identification of the critical issues regarding the neighbouring buildings.
The demolition was necessary in order to meet the following requirements:
The intervention was carried out using specific radio-controlled mini-machines, directly brought at the various levels of the structure, starting from the roof floor and descending gradually according to the demolitions progress up to the underground floors.
Specifically, a compartmentalization of the building by means of scaffolding perimeter full height was performed in order to ensure the safety measures during operations and minimize the dust dispersion.
Scaffolding was removed simultaneously with the demolition progression, assuring the highest safety level.
Demolition activities affected the basement soffit slabs, and no intervention involved the walls.
