REHABILITATION OF MAAI MAHIU-NAROK ROAD – N. RD/457 - KENYA

Rehabilitation of the road between Maai Mahiu - Narok on the category “A” the maximum category in Kenya consist in the complete rehabilitation of the road to accommodate a new 7.0 m wide carriageway and 1.5m wide shoulders on either side. Construction of new sub base layer by recycling and stabilization of existing pavement layers together with imported materials. The total length of the road is 90 km and the new basement structure is 350 mm thick of stabilized sub base with 3% of cement, 170 mm thick of foam bitumen as base and the cape seal 2 cm thick with asphalt slurry as wearing course.
